Songza, the free music streaming service has announced an app for Windows Phone 8, making activity-themed and mood-themed available to Windows Phone users. Previously, the company had launched a native app for Windows 8/RT computers and tablets, making Windows smartphone a logical next step.
Songza’s Windows Phone 8 app is similar in look and feels to other streaming services. You move through section by a horizontal swipe. You can set music to play in the background and the app supports lockscreen controls.
You can search for music by artist, activity or even a particular mood, and the app provides access to the curated playlists that made the Songza service popular with other smartphones. Songza has grown rapidly recently and reached the million-user mark in Canada within two months of launching last year.
Songza is available free at the Windows Phone app store here.
