Viber has released an upgraded version of its free phone call app for Windows Phone 8 that provides improved integration with Viber Desktop and other enhancements.
The improved integration with Viber Desktop, says the company, give users seamless call transfers between Windows Phone 8 and the Desktop (PC and Mac computers running Viber).
The new version also enables users to choose new backgrounds from a new background gallery and support for Windows Phone 8 Live Tiles, which lets you pin your favourite conversations to your Start screen and see them update in real time.
There is improved push notifications so you never miss a message or call and there is a refreshed look and feel, that is focused on better readability and usability.
According to Talmon Marco, CEO of Viber, ‘This release is squarely focused on providing a completely seamless experience for the growing community of Viber users on the Windows Phone platform. Viber for Windows Phone is now easier to use and more functional,’ he said.
Marco says the new release is the first step Viber putting what he calls ‘an elevated focus on the Windows Phone platform’ and says his company has plans to provide more new features and updates in the near future.
